GREEN INITIATIVE - TREE PLANTING CAMPAIGN

The 3(K) BN NCC Unit of S.N. College, Chempazhanthy organized a Tree Planting Campaign on October 21st, 2025, as part of its Green Initiative to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices within the campus. The programme aimed to inspire students to contribute actively to ecological preservation and to foster a sense of responsibility towards nature. 

The event began at 8:00 A.M. with an inaugural address by the Principal Prof (Dr) Raakhee A S, who emphasized the importance of tree planting as a meaningful step towards maintaining environmental balance. The ANO Lt. Dr. Giftson A W motivated the students and assisted in coordinating and supervising the activities. 

All NCC cadets participated with great enthusiasm, planting a wide variety of saplings, including shade-giving and native species, in and around the campus. Each cadet was encouraged to nurture the sapling they planted, thereby ensuring the continuity of the initiative. The combined efforts of the cadets, ANO, and staff members transformed the campaign into a successful and impactful event that reflected the spirit of teamwork and environmental commitment. 

The campaign also served as an educational experience, highlighting the importance of greenery in reducing pollution, conserving biodiversity, and improving air quality. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to the Principal, ANO, and staff for their valuable support and active participation. 

Through this initiative, the NCC unit reaffirmed its dedication to community service and environmental stewardship, truly embodying the message that "Together, we can make the world greener."
