International Women’s Day Celebrations 2024–25

 

International Women's Day, observed globally on the 8th of March, is a day to celebrate the achievements of women in all fields and advocate for gender equality and women's rights. It highlights both the progress made in empowering women and the challenges that remain. The occasion also underscores the crucial roles women play in society, education, leadership, and community development.

In line with this spirit, Sree Narayana College, Chempazhanthy, organized a grand celebration on 11th March 2025. The event brought together students, faculty, and esteemed guests for a day filled with inspiring addresses and engaging physical activities, aiming to promote inclusivity, empowerment, and wellness.



Event Highlights

Opening Ceremony

The event commenced in the college seminar hall with a soulful prayer song by the College Choir Team, setting a serene and optimistic tone.

Welcome Address

Mr. Praveen R, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries, faculty, students, and guests.

Presidential Address

Dr. Sujith Prabhakar, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Physical Education, emphasized the significance of International Women’s Day and highlighted the importance of physical education in supporting women’s health and empowerment.



Inaugural Address

Dr. Rakhee A. S, Principal, S. N. College, officially inaugurated the event. In her address, she stressed the ongoing need for gender equality and praised the college’s efforts in supporting women's development through various initiatives.




Felicitation Ceremony

Distinguished guests were honored during the felicitation ceremony and invited to share brief yet impactful messages about women’s empowerment and societal contributions.

Programme Schedule and Activities

A series of vibrant and wellness-oriented activities were conducted throughout the day, encouraging participation from students, teachers, and non-teaching staff:

  • 10:30 – 11:30 AM: Zumba Dance
    A high-energy session conducted by Aswathy A. S, offering participants a fun and dynamic workout experience.

  • 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Aerobics
    Led by Aswathy V, this session focused on rhythmic movements for improving cardiovascular endurance and flexibility.

  • 1:30 – 2:30 PM: Tug of War (Intra-Departmental)
    Supervised by Mr. Midhun A, this friendly competition encouraged departmental camaraderie and sportsmanship.

  • 2:30 – 3:30 PM: Minor Games
    Fun and inclusive games for students, teachers, and non-teaching staff, designed to promote engagement and interaction across all groups.

  • 3:30 – 4:30 PM: Yoga
    Conducted by Aswathy V, this session focused on mindfulness, relaxation, and physical well-being.

  • 4:30 PM: Prize Distribution
    Winners of the day’s competitions and events were awarded prizes in recognition of their enthusiastic participation and performance.
