Sree Narayana College, Chempazhanthy celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm on June 21st, 2025. The celebration was organized by the College Yoga Club in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

This year’s celebration marked a significant milestone—the 11th anniversary of International Yoga Day—under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” The objective of the event was to raise awareness about the ancient practice of yoga and highlight its numerous benefits for both physical and spiritual well-being. Yoga is known for its ability to calm the mind, rejuvenate the body, and strengthen the immune system. The 2025 observance emphasized yoga’s role in promoting holistic health and environmental harmony.

The event commenced with a prayer and a brief introduction to the significance of Yoga Day. The welcome address and introduction of the chief guest were delivered by Dr. Giftson A. W., Assistant Professor of History.

The training session and seminar were led by Sri Suresh Chandran, renowned yoga instructor and spiritual healer. The event was officially inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Raakhee A. S., Principal of the College, who, in her inaugural address, emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga into students' daily routines for improved academic performance and better mental and physical health.

The chief guest, Sri Suresh Chandran, delivered an insightful and inspiring session. His address included an overview of the history and evolution of yoga, with a special focus on yoga asanas and pranayama. The practical session that followed lasted for over an hour and saw active participation from students and faculty alike. The instructor provided clear explanations of each asana and guided participants on precautions to be taken while practicing yoga.

The event concluded successfully, reflecting the keen interest and enthusiastic involvement of all attendees. A vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Nishad, Assistant Professor of Commerce. Additionally, Miss Navami, a third-semester B.A. History student, conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the resource person on behalf of the participants.
