REPORT ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATIONS 2024-25

 International Women's Day, celebrated annually on the 8th of March, is a global occasion that honors the achievements of women in various fields while advocating for gender equality and women's rights. The day serves as a reminder of the progress made towards women's empowerment and the challenges that still persist. It is an opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate the vital role women play in society, education, and leadership. This year, Sree Narayana College, Chempazhanthy, organized a grand celebration on the 11th of March 2025, bringing together students, faculty, and esteemed guests to participate in a series of inspiring events and activities aimed at promoting inclusivity and physical well-being.

The event commenced ,in the seminar hall,S N College,Chempazhanthy with a soulful prayer performance by the College Choir Team, setting a harmonious and positive tone for the day's celebrations.The opening ceremony encompassed multiple key addresses and the formal inauguration of the event. It began with the Welcome Address delivered by Praveen R, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Education, who extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries, faculty members, students, and guests. 

This was followed by the Presidential Address by Dr. Sujith Prabhakar, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Physical Education, who emphasized the significance of International Women's Day and the role of physical education in promoting women's wellbeing. 

The Inauguration of the event was conducted by Dr. Rakhee A S, Principal of S N College, Chempazhanthy. Her speech highlighted the importance of gender equality and the college's efforts in empowering women through various initiatives. 

Following the formal inauguration, the Felicitation Ceremony took place, where distinguished guests were honored and invited to share a few words about women's empowerment and their contributions to society. The list of esteemed dignitaries included: o Dr. Soju S (Member Senate, University of Kerala) o Dr. Sudheesh C S (Assistant Professor & Head, Exercise Physiology, SAI, LNCPE) o Smt. Arathi P (Assistant Director, SAI, LNCPE) o Dr. Ambili Raj D.B (IQAC Coordinator) o Sri. Abhilash T (NSS Programme Officer) o Lt. (Dr.) Giftson A W (NCC Officer) o Dr. Hima S S (NCC Officer) o Sri. Aromal N R (College Union Chairman) Vote of Thanks delivered by kumari. Athulya  ,general secretary,college union expressed gratitude to all the participants, organizers, and attendees for making the event a grand success. Programme Activities The event featured an array of fun and fitness-oriented activities aimed at encouraging participation from students, faculty, and non-teaching staff alike.  10:30 - 11:30 AM - Zumba Dance A high-energy Zumba session was conducted by Aswathy A S to engage participants in a fun and invigorating workout, promoting fitness and well-being. 

 11:30 - 12:30 PM - Aerobics This session, led by Aswathy V, focused on rhythmic aerobic exercises that improved cardiovascular health, flexibility, and overall fitness. 

 1:30 - 2:30 PM - Tug of War (Intra Department) A friendly yet competitive tug of war game was organized under the supervision of Midhun A, encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship among different departments.  2:30 - 3:30 PM - Minor Games (Students, Teachers, and Non-Teaching Staff) Various interactive and entertaining minor games were organized to foster camaraderie among participants of all categories.  3:30 - 4:30 PM - Yoga A guided yoga session, conducted by Aswathy V, promoted relaxation, mindfulness, and physical well-being

 4:30 PM - Prize Distribution Winners of the various activities were awarded prizes to acknowledge their participation and achievements. The programme Organized by Department of Physical Education, S N College, Chempazhanthy in association with Sports Authority of India- LNCPE,Fit India,College NSS, NCC, Sports Club, and Women's Study Unit. This celebration successfully recognized and honored the invaluable contributions of women in all spheres of life. Through a series of engaging activities, the event promoted fitness, inclusivity, and the spirit of unity among students and faculty members.
