One-Day Theatre Workshop Organized by Media, Film & Theatre Club
Introduction: The Media, Film & Theatre Club, in association with the PG Department of English at Sree Narayana College, Chempazhanthy, organized a one-day theatre workshop on the 19th of February, 2025. The event was held at the college auditorium from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The workshop was led by Nireeksha Women’s Theatre, a renowned collective dedicated to empowering women through performing arts.
About Nireeksha Women’s Theatre: Nireeksha Women’s Theatre, based in Trivandrum, Kerala, is a pioneering theatre collective focused on using performing arts as a tool for social change. The organization is known for its thought-provoking performances that address themes of gender, identity, and social justice. The workshop was conducted by two distinguished members of the collective—Ms. Rajarajeswari, a renowned dramaturge, and Ms. Aswani Chand, an accomplished artist and choreographer.
Objectives of the Workshop: The primary objectives of the workshop were:
To provide students with a platform to explore creativity, storytelling, and performance.
To offer hands-on training in acting skills, techniques, public speaking, and confidence-building.
To create awareness about the role of theatre in addressing social issues.

Fundamental acting techniques and stage presence.
Voice modulation, body language, and expression.
