Annual Athletic Meet 2024-25

 The Annual Athletic Meet 2024–25 of S.N. College, Chempazhanthy, was held on 29th and 30th January 2025 at the college ground. The two-day event was a grand celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork, and athletic excellence, with enthusiastic participation from both students and staff.

The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Sujith Prabhakar, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Physical Education. He spoke about the importance of sports in overall personality development and encouraged students to compete in the right spirit.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Rakhee A. S., Principal of the College, who highlighted the college’s commitment to promoting fitness and sports.

The event was formally inaugurated by Sri Krishnan Ajayan Nair, former Indian football player, who also hoisted the sports flag and inspired the athletes with his words.

Felicitations were offered by Dr. Soju (Senate Member, Kerala University), Dr. Premraj (Executive Member, S.N. Trust Board), Dr. Ambali Raj (IQAC Coordinator), and Sri Aromal N.R. (College Union Chairman).

The sports oath was taken by Kumari Malavika, Sports Club Secretary, on behalf of all participants, pledging fair play and sportsmanship. The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Praveen R, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education.

March Past

A major highlight of the meet was the March Past, where nine departmental teams showcased discipline and unity.

Results:

  • 1st Place: History Department

  • 2nd Place: Mathematics Department

  • 3rd Place: Geology Department

The History Department stood out for their perfect coordination and energy.

Athletic Events

Over the two days, students competed in various track and field events.

Men’s & Women’s Events:

  • 100m, 200m, 400m

  • 1500m (Men) / 800m (Women)

  • Shot Put, Long Jump, Javelin Throw

  • 4x100m Relay

Events for Teaching & Non-Teaching Staff:

  • 50m race

  • Shot Put

  • Javelin Throw (Men) / Race Walk (Women)

The competitions filled the college ground with excitement, cheering, and team spirit.

Closing Ceremony and Prize Distribution

The closing ceremony on 30th January 2025 began with a welcome speech by Dr. Praveen R.

The prize distribution was presided over by Dr. Rakhee A. S., Principal, who congratulated the winners and praised the efforts of all participants.

  • Overall Championship: Commerce Department

  • Runner-up: English Department

  • Second Runner-up: Economics Department

The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sujith Prabhakar, who appreciated the contributions of students, faculty, and staff in making the meeting a success.


The Annual Athletic Meet 2024–25 was a great success, promoting values of discipline, resilience, and teamwork. It not only showcased the talents of student athletes but also strengthened the culture of sports in the college. S.N. College, Chempazhanthy, continues to inspire students to achieve excellence both in academics and athletics.
