Workshop – “Inspire to Rewire: Focus on Emotional Intelligence”
The Department of Psychology, in collaboration with IQAC and IIC, organized a one-day workshop titled “Inspire to Rewire: Focus on Emotional Intelligence” on 18th November 2024 at the college seminar hall. The workshop was led by Dr. Ammu Lukose, Assistant Professor of Counseling Psychology, Loyola College of Social Sciences, and aimed at enhancing students’ emotional awareness and self-discovery.
The programme began with a prayer by the students of the Department of Psychology, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Anjana R., Assistant Professor. The inaugural address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Raakhee A. S., Principal of S.N. College, who highlighted the importance of emotional intelligence in student life.
In her keynote session, Dr. Ammu Lukose introduced the objectives of the workshop, stressing the need to understand and manage emotions for personal and professional growth. She engaged the participants through interactive methods such as ice-breaking activities, sociodrama, art therapy, and guided relaxation, creating an atmosphere of experiential learning. The sessions encouraged self-reflection, resilience-building, and practical strategies to enhance emotional intelligence.
The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants. The active involvement of students and the insightful guidance of the resource person made the event a meaningful and transformative experience, inspiring participants to rewire their emotional world and unlock their potential.
