Santé Mentale – Mental Health Awareness Week
The Department of Psychology, S.N. College, Chempazhanthy, organized Santé Mentale – Mental Health Awareness Week from October 8 to 10, 2024. The three-day event included a variety of interactive and creative sessions to promote awareness about mental health.
Key attractions were the Mind Bloom Lab Exhibition, Irularai Self-Awareness Expo, and Psycho Bites Food Fest. Students also actively participated in engaging activities such as Psy Quest (games and scavenger hunt), Breaking Barrier (mime, flash mob, and music), and the Mano Drishyam Film Fest, which creatively explored mental health themes.
The highlight of the programme was a seminar on “It’s Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace”, delivered by Dr. P. T. Kurian, retired Professor and former Head of the Department of Psychology. His talk focused on the importance of workplace mental health and practical strategies for stress management.
The week-long celebration successfully promoted meaningful conversations on mental well-being and helped create a more supportive and inclusive campus environment.
